The Sko Gear Mojave 60-70L is a modular drainage backpack built for canyoneering and multi-day adventures where your pack goes in and out of water. Unlike our airtight packs, the Mojave is designed to let water in and drain it out fast — so you're never hauling extra water weight on the hike out.
Note: The Mojave is NOT a waterproof/airtight pack. Use internal dry bags for items that must stay dry (phone, food, clothing). For a fully submersible waterproof backpack, see the Coqui 22L or Karpathos 34L.
Adjustable 60L to 70L Capacity
The Mojave expands from 60L to 70L with a quick zip, giving you room for multi-day gear, rope bags, harnesses, and supplies.
Rapid Drainage System
Engineered with drainage ports throughout, water flows out quickly after submersion. When you exit a pool or swim section in a canyon, the pack drains fast so you're carrying gear weight — not water weight. This is the key advantage over sealed packs in wet canyoneering.
Rugged Construction
Built with abrasion-resistant, puncture-proof materials. Tough enough to withstand sharp rocks, rough trails, and constant canyon wall contact. Backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Built For
- Wet Canyoneering — rapid drainage for pool-to-pool canyon routes
- Multi-Day Canyon Expeditions — expandable capacity for extended trips
- Backpacking with River Crossings — drains fast after fording
- Any Route Where Your Pack Gets Submerged — embrace the water
What to Pair With the Mojave
Since the Mojave drains rather than seals, protect your sensitive gear:
- Waterproof Phone Pouch ($44.99) — keep your phone dry inside or outside the pack
- Waterproof Crossbody Bag ($74.99) — carry phone, keys, and wallet in a sealed bag
Or pair the Mojave with a Coqui 22L — use the Coqui as an internal dry bag for electronics and food inside the Mojave.

This pack held up really well in the canyons and was pretty comfortable.
I used to love this style of pack so much but it got too expensive! I recently found this company and they have spent lots of time developing these. This pack is a game changer for canyoneering.
I just used this pack on my most recent trip and I was shocked how lightweight it was and yet how durable. I scraped against so many walls and it looks like not even a scratch. How many buckles it has was overwhelming putting it all together knowing what hooks to what. But once I figured that out I loved that I could adjust it to perfectly fit my back to evenly distribute the weight. I also love how much room there is inside so I could fit all my gear including my helmet in there.
